January was a busy month with service projects and fund-raising events! I would like to thank Beth Breault for Chairing the MLK SOUPER BOWL service project! Devon elementary REALLY gets into this project and your generosity is evident as our stage was filled with donated food and toiletries to be donated to The Daily Bread Food Pantry which is run by Mr. Stever and his wife. A big thank you to WHOLE FOODS and TRADER JOES for donating the paper bags and to KRAPFS for providing the transportation of donated goods to the pantry!
I hope you had a chance to attend the MAINLINE CAMP FAIR! This is one our biggest fundraisers and a wonderful event for our school and community! Cathy Rains, Megan Hillier and Marissa Campbell deserve a big round of applause for rounding up over 70 camps to this event! It was a great night that raised a lot of money for our school!
Mark your calendars! March 10^th is our 1^st annual multicultural event! We are hoping to have tables representing at least 20 different cultures that night! Right now, we have 17 tables confirmed! We are still looking for someone to host a table for Canada and the USA! If you would like to celebrate your heritage by hosting a table please contact Shweta Sivaraman at firstname.lastname@example.org (mailto:email@example.com) It’s going to be a wonderful evening of food, activities, traditions, and music! We hope to see you there!
I would like to take a moment to thank Meg Taft and Carrie Cotton for their dedication to Cultural Arts! We have been busy at Devon as they arranged for the Constitution Center, Mother Goose, and Master Cheng-The Master Paper Cutter to all visit in the past month! Next up? “Art Goes to School” which will be February 13^th-17^th! These are all programs that are funded by the PTO!
Our next big fundraiser (and our largest) is the Parent Social and Auction! A Volunteer Spot will be sent out shortly so please, take a look and see if there is anything that you could donate or volunteer to help with! Next, we need your attendance and participation! It is a fun night out with other Devon Parents and you may even walk away winning an auction item! The food and drink are amazing and the company even better! Save the date for April 1^st!
Our next PTO meeting is March 15th at 9:30 am. As always, children are welcome! We would love to see you there!
